Payment settings

The Payments settings page is where you choose and connect the provider that handles paid checkout for your booking widget.

Getting there

  • Where: Settings → Payments (you can also connect payments during the onboarding wizard).
  • Permissions: viewing Payment settings requires brands:read. Connecting or reconnecting a provider, changing the default provider, editing PayPal credentials, or saving any other change requires brands:update.

These brand permissions control payment provider configuration. payments:read is a separate permission for Point of Sale and payment records; it does not grant access to Payment settings.

What you can set

  • Default Payment Provider: the provider used for paid checkout.
  • Stripe / Square: connect with a guided panel that shows Connected or Not connected and a Connect / Reconnect button.
  • PayPal: enter your Client ID, Secret Key, and Webhook ID. All three are required before PayPal can be saved as the default provider. Renewals, cancellations, refunds, and disputes only reach us through the webhook, and without its ID we cannot safely start a recurring checkout. Register the webhook in the PayPal dashboard first, then paste its ID here. The panel shows whether PayPal is Unavailable (not turned on yet), Not configured (on, but at least one of the Client ID, Secret Key, and Webhook ID is still missing for this brand), or Live (the Client ID, Secret Key, and Webhook ID are saved). Taking PayPal live also needs a switch that support flips for you, see PayPal activation.

Tips

  • You can run your studio without a payment provider and connect one later, paid checkout in the booking widget needs a connected provider.
  • The provider you choose here is what customers use when booking through your website widgets.
