Browser time zone rules

Your browser keeps its own copy of the world's time zone rules. When a region changes its clocks, as British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Manitoba did by staying on summer time from November 2026, an older browser still uses the old rule. Times it shows, such as payment and order times, and times you type, such as a time clock correction or a campaign send time, can then be an hour off.

The out-of-date rules banner

If your browser is missing a rule for your brand timezone or one of your active locations' time zones, a banner at the top of the app says so and names the zone. Session times are not affected, since they come from Elara already on the studio's clock.

Clear the banner

Update, then reload Elara:

  • Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer or Android: update the browser.
  • Safari on a Mac, and any browser on an iPhone or iPad, including Elara installed to the home screen: these use the operating system's rules, so update macOS, iOS or iPadOS.

A rule change reaches browsers some time after it is announced, so the out-of-date rules banner can stay even when everything is up to date. Until it clears, check times in that zone against the studio's clock before you rely on them.

A front-desk kiosk shows its own notice instead of this banner. See Time clock.
