Onboarding wizard

After you create a studio, the app opens Setup Your Studio, a short checklist that gets you ready to take bookings. The wizard keeps the setup focused on the decisions needed for launch: studio identity, locations, sessions, pricing, payment checkout, and the final booking-widget launch check.

Getting there

• Where: opens automatically for a new studio. You can return any time from the Finish setting up your studio card on the Dashboard, or by visiting /onboarding.
• Permission: brands:update.

Fast launch path

For a simple studio, use the shortest path through the required steps:

1. Activate the monthly platform subscription selected during signup.
2. Confirm studio name, public domain, timezone, and brand color.
3. Review the seeded Main Studio location, or add one if it was removed.
4. Add one bookable session and schedule it.
5. Add one membership plan or credit pack.
6. Install the booking widget on the public domain.
7. Verify the current admin email, then finish setup.

The payment provider step is for customer checkout and can be skipped during onboarding if you only need unpaid test bookings first. Connect Stripe, Square, or PayPal before opening paid checkout to customers.

Platform billing

The monthly platform subscription unlocks the rest of onboarding. If checkout was canceled or interrupted during signup, the Studio step shows a link back to billing before you can edit the public studio details.

Platform billing is separate from the customer checkout provider configured in the Payments step.

The steps

The wizard jumps to the first step you haven't finished yet.

1. Studio

Studio stores the public details customers see in widgets and links: studio name, URL slug, website domain, timezone, logo URL, and brand color. Replace any temporary signup domain before finishing onboarding.

2. Locations

Add Your Locations: the places customers can book into. A studio needs at least one location before sessions can be scheduled there.

3. Sessions

Add Your Sessions: the things you offer (for example a sauna visit or a yoga session). See Sessions for the full set of options.

4. Membership Plans

Add Membership Plans: the recurring plans and credit packs customers buy. See Memberships.

5. Payments

Connect Payments: Choose the provider your booking widget should use for paid checkout. Pick a Payment Provider: Connect later, Stripe, Square, or PayPal. Stripe and Square open a connect panel (showing Connected / Not connected and a Connect or Reconnect button); PayPal asks for a Client ID, a Secret Key, and a Webhook ID. All three are required: nothing tells Sauna a recurring payment cleared without the Webhook ID, so recurring checkout is refused until it is set. Save stays off until all three are saved, and the step names the ones still missing. A Secret Key already stored for the brand counts, so that box can stay empty. Register the webhook in the PayPal dashboard first, see PayPal activation. Select Save Payment Gateway to store it.

This step is optional, you can finish onboarding without it and connect payments later from Payment settings.

6. Launch

Launch booking checks the customer-facing requirements before the studio can mark onboarding complete:

• The booking widget has loaded from an allowed public domain.
• The current admin has verified their email address.

Use Website integration to copy the embed code and confirm the widget install.

Finishing

When the required steps are done, select Finish Setup. Until then you'll see Complete the required steps to finish, or come back to this page anytime. Use Previous and Next to move between steps, or Back to dashboard to leave and return later.

The monthly platform subscription also needs to be active, or still inside its trial, before you can finish onboarding. If checkout was interrupted, return to the dashboard billing prompt or open Settings > Billing.
